Today's Premier League hits

Liverpool vs Everton and Manchester United vs Portsmouth were today's big games. No surprise, United have beaten the last club in Premier League table 5 – 0. What actually is a bit unexpected, is that only two goals were scored by Red Devils. Rooney in 40' and Berbatov in 62' were the only scorers. The others were own – goals by Portsmouth. The victory earned United 3 points and made them leaders of the table, one point more than Chelsea. The Blues will face Arsenal tomorrow, so it's a chance that they'll lose points. Portsmouth, facing serious financial problems, will have huge troubles to stay in Premier League for next season, and they the most likely won't manage it.

There was also a battle at Anfield. Liverpool FC played against their local opponent, Everton. It was the 213 match between these two teams. The Reds won it 1 – 0, although Kyrgiakos, a defence player was booked in 34 minute of the game. Luckily for Rafa Benitez and his team the always reliable Dirk Kuyt scored the only goal in the beginning of the second half. Everton struggled to draw, but today Pepe Reina was like a wall in The Reds' goal. Even attempts of Baines, Yakubu and Cahill, were hopeless. The match was very brutal from the beginning to the end, 6 yellow cards were shown and just a minute before the final whistle, Pienaar was also booked and had to leave the pitch. Thanks to the victory Liverpool has got 41 points and is on the 5th place in Premier League, a one higher then Man. City, which lost a match against Hull 2 – 1.
